SERVICES CURRENTLY OFFERED

We currently offer following services:

 Diabetic Clinic. Run by Senior Nurse Joanne Standhaven and including in-house laboratory testing, on Mondays by appointment. 

Antenatal Clinic. This is by appointment with the midwife (Mondays and Tuesdays). As needed, you might be given an appointment to see Dr.Mrs.Malhotra as part of the ante natal care to be provided to you.

 Contraception and family planning, including coils/implants. All doctors and nurses provide general contraception advice. However, any implants/coils and coil checks are done by Mrs.Malhotra.  

 Asthma Clinic. All asthmatics are seen yearly for review with the nurse. Patients will receive a letter reminding them if their review is due.

Blood Pressure Clinic. For your BP check please make an appointment to see either of the two practice nurses. If you receive treatment for blood presssure, you should be seen every 6 months.    

Baby Clinic.  These are for assessment of the health and development of your child. The baby clinic is run jointly by the health visitors, the nurses and the doctors.These clinics are run by Dr.Iqbal on Wednesday morning, and the first assessment takes place when your baby is 6-8 weeks old.

Travel Clinic.  For all travel vaccinations, malaria tablets, and general travel advice, please make an appoinment with the nurse. Please note that some of these vaccinations and tablets are not available on the NHS and attract a charge.

Minor Surgery and Joint Injections. We refer all our patients for any minor procedures to Dr.Wilson's Surgery at Kensington Street, Bradford, and this can be arranged after assessment by your doctor.  

PRIVATE PATIENTS

We are happy to see you as a private patient if you are a visitor from abroad on a visiting visa to UK. However, we charge £50 for the consultation and £10 for the prescription.

EXTENDED HOURS

As part of the government's plans to give more choice and access to patients, we are happy to see patients for pre-bookable appointments (which can be booked in advance) from 6:30 pm till 8:00 pm on Monday evenings.

TAXI MEDICALS

We provide necessary assesment  for Taxi Medicals for our own registered patients as well as private patients. The charges for the medical test are £75 and takes approximately 30 minutes. We do recommend that you bring along a recent opticians report about your eye sight, as this needs to be mentioned in the documentation.  

BLUE BADGE SCHEME

 Dr.Iqbal is an independent assessor in Bradford for the Government's Blue Badge Scheme. He assess the patients from other surgeries referred to him by the Social Services Dept. as regards their medical fitness and eligibility for the Blue Badge. Blue Badge assessments take place on Tuesday and Friday afternoons.

The Blue Badge scheme provides a range of parking concessions for people with severe mobility problems who have difficulty using public transport. The scheme operates thoughout the UK.

WATCH DR.IQBAL ON 'AAP TV'

You can now watch Dr.Iqbal every Friday between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM on your TV at SKY channel 803. He will be discussing and taking LIVE on air calls from the viewers, on topics of health, diseases and illnesses.   

 SUNRISE RADIO

You can listen to Dr.Iqbal and the discussion on health related topics and health promotion in 'Doctor On Call' in Urdu broadcast LIVE on Sunrise Radio (based in Yorkshire) on 103.2 FM, on DAB or online at www.sunriseradio.fm from 3pm to 4pm GMT last Thursday of every month. Telephone calls in English and Urdu are also taken during the radio program. Please feel free to call if you have any relevant questions.

DAILY 'AUSAAF' NEWSPAPER

Dr.Iqbal also writes health related articles from time to time in the Daily Newspaper 'Ausaaf' in Urdu.
